Abstract :
Frequency spectrum is a telecommunication medium that is used for public purpose with a limited number, so that th utilization of the frequency spectrum is regulated by the license holder or the authority that is managed effectively and efficiently. In this context, Cognitive Radio (CR) is of particular concern in exploiting the use of a limited frequency spectrum. In principle, CR sets the secondary user (SU) for the opportunity to use frequency spectrum access from a primary user (PU) without disturbing PU performance. Through spectrum sharing, the secondary user (SU) can use the primary frequency user spectrum (PU) when PU is nit using spectral access rights. In the use of frequency spectrum access, care should be taken in the use of power on CR network. It is impossible for PU to share spectrum to SU in case of interference on CR networks. So we need a method of power control as a solution to prevent interference in CR network. Systemally, power control has two categories of algorithms for CR networks, namely centralized power control (CPC) and distributed power control (DPC). In the research, CR network will be simulated using DPC algorithm method. In the DPC algorithm, the QoS requirement on each SU will be fulfilled without disturbing the surrounding users. Through the simulation result, this study show that the DPC algorithm method can keep the SIR fixed to the threshold limit to reduce excessive interference on the CR network Keywords: Frequency Spectrum, CR Network, Secondary User, Primary User, Power Control, DPC.
