Abstract :
The limited technology that can monitor the development of chicken weight at any time is one of the reasons farmers have to weigh chickens regularly. Checking every time requires a lot of production input in the form of human labor. Meanwhile, broiler chickens are prone to stress if they are often weighed. Therefore, the author chose a chicken weight monitoring device to monitor chicken weight information remotely via a web. The chicken coop is connected to a loadcell sensor as a system for reading and retrieving object weight data from the surrounding environment and for the control system using a NodeMCU microcontroller with ESP8266 as a wireless transmission medium for I/O devices. The data that has been taken by the loadcell sensor will be processed by the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller which is then sent to a server. There is one protocol analyzed, namely the Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol. The research includes analyzing the accuracy of loadcell sensors with digital scales as well as analyzing Quality of Service (QoS) on objects in the protocol and analyzing data transmission on the MQTT protocol. Several Quality of Service (QoS) parameters used as research reference are Delay, Jitter, Packet Loss and Throughput. The test results in this study indicate that the monitoring tool tested on chickens weighing an average of 1.97 kg has an accuracy value of 99.7%. And the MQTT protocol on the delay parameter has very good service quality in the range of 107.101 – 129,544 ms. While the jitter category has good quality in the range of 0.002 – 0.052, the throughput parameter has an average value of 29557.172 - 31401.873 bps and the packet loss parameter has very good service quality, which is only 0.0001% – 0.0008%. The results of these tests indicate that the use of the MQTT protocol is good for broiler weight monitoring devices. Keywords: Loadcell, Monitoring, MQTT, NodeMCU, QoSa
