Abstract :
The current telecommunication system occupies a very important position in human life. The presence of the telecommunication system allows people to get information quickly and without any limitations on distance and time. To meet these needs, a technology that provides high bit data rates is needed. Multi Carrier Modulation (MCM) is a technology that divides channel bandwidth into subchannels. One type of MCM is the Multi Carrier Bank Filter (FBMC) where each subchannel is orthogonal to each other. The use of digital OQAM modulation aims to increase the bit rate. Channel coding is used to correct errors caused by noise. This research uses the convolutional code channel coding used on the sender part and the viterbi algorithm used at the receiver. The simulation is carried out on the FBMC OQAM system with convolutional code and without convolutional code using the comparison of the Bit Error Rate (BER) parameter and the resulting channel capacity against the Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR). The results showed that the FBMC OQAM system with convolutional code was better than FBMC OQAM at high SNR. In FMBC OQAM system to reach BER 10-3 requires SNR 17 dB while in FBMC OQAM system with convolutional code requires SNR 16 dB. Increasing the SNR value can increase the resulting channel capacity value, at 0 dB SNR it produces 0.4535 bps / Hz and at 20 dB SNR it produces 5.858 bps / Hz.
