Abstract :
The condition of the chairs in the canteen of the Telkom Purwokerto Institute of Technology is considered less comfortable because the chair design does not pay attention to the anthropometric and ergonomic aspects of the chair users. From the results of distributing the Nordic body map (NBM) questionnaire, it was found that the most felt complaints were on the part, back, waist, buttocks, and buttocks due to the absence of backrests and seat mats that only used an arrangement of 4 hollow steel pieces. The purpose of this study was to find out the complaints felt by canteen visitors and to redesign the canteen seating at the Telkom Institute of Technology Purwokerto by considering aspects of health, safety, and comfort. To design a chair, it is necessary to pay attention to important aspects to determine the dimensions, therefore anthropometric data is needed for the student's body size, especially the type of anthropometry used, namely, sitting shoulder height, thigh length, popliteal height, hip width and shoulder width. This is important so that the design and design of the chairs can be used comfortably by canteen visitors. Based on the results of the study, the size of the seat height is 54 cm, the width of the chair is 3 cm, the width of the backrest is 48 cm, the height of the seat back is 66 cm, and the length of the seat base is 49 cm. the design of the canteen chair is made using the help of autocad and solidworks applications to determine the material to be used Keywords: Chair Design, Ergonomic, Antropometry
