Abstract :
Facility layout planning that is applied in production activities is important for a company because the production floor affects the smoothness of the production process. This research was conducted at the Wijaya Workshop in East Purwokerto. The problem in Wiaya Workshop is that the production facilities are still separate. Separate facilities are welding Workshops that are not in the same area as other production facilities. Judging from the problems above, the Activity Relationship Chart (ARC) method was chosen because it was considered the most appropriate and objective based on the process that would be used in solving problems on the production floor. In addition, this method is also used because it is in accordance with the object and subject and in accordance with the conditions that exist in the Wijaya Workshop. To create a layout in this Wijaya Workshop using the Visio software application. Visio can be used to draw layouts according to your needs, you can adjust the size to be made. The results obtained are a reduction in the carrying distance of the facility department which is in the same area as the welding Workshop department. This proposed layout has combined all the facilities departments in the Wijaya Workshop in the same area. The facility department, which is already in one area, makes transportation costs disappear.
