Abstract :
Long Term Evolution (LTE) is a technology supporting data service with high speed technology using Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). In Indonesia, LTE can not be enjoyed by everyone because not all regions in Indonesia existing the LTE network architecture. Because LTE is a new technology, it needs planning LTE networks that consist of E-UTRAN and Evolved Packet Core (EPC). EPC is a vital part of the 4G LTE network. In accordance with the standards issued by the Operator X, evolved packet core (EPC) consists of at least two MME, 2 S / PGW, and 1 HSS in one city. But usually for the network core or the evolved packet core itself only in a regional and not in a city. Therefore, the author will make planning for 4G LTE EPC of city x as the object of research, as the city where the implementation of these plans will be done. In order to make the 4G LTE services can be held in the X xity effectively and efficiently, in terms of the core network. From the planning, to be able to implement 4G LTE networks use technology of Call Switch Fallback in City X, required 6 MSC Server (MSS), 1 HSS, 2 MME, and 2 SGW-PGW. In planning the 4G LTE evolved packet core in City X, the interface is divided into two parts, control plane interface and user plane interface. Interface control plane such as S6A, S11, S10, S1-MME, S5/S8 control plane requires a bandwidth of 0.355 Gbps. For the user plane interface such as S5 / S8 user plane, S1-U and SGI requires a bandwidth of 17.75 Gbps. This research has resulted in planning the implementation of 4G LTE evolved packet core technology with Call Switch Fallback in City X. Keywords: LTE, Evolved Packet Core (EPC), 4G Interface , 4G Network Elements, Call Switch FallBack (CSFB)
