ABSTRACT
The automotive industry today not only offers vehicle products with good
performance, safety and comfort, but also is efficient in terms of fuel use. Along with the
increasingly high price of fuel (energy), energy-efficient cars become alternatives and solutions
for the vehicle user community. The purpose of this study is: To determine the value of the
friction (friction) of the front and rear tires of the KMHE 2019 prosoe electric car that occurs
because of the driving speed of the type 20''x 1.75 '' tires. This testing method uses an
experimental method, which is a way to find a causal relationship between two influential factors.
From the results of all tests explain that the greater the speed used in testing on the KMHE 2019
electric car prosoe, the resulting friction coefficient value gets smaller. The greatest coefficient of
friction occurred at a driving speed of 5 km / hour and 10 km / hour with a coefficient of friction
value of 0.19, at a driving speed of 20 km / jam decreased friction coefficient of 0.01 with a
coefficient of friction value of 0.18, and at driving speed of 30 km / hour also experienced a
decrease in the coefficient of friction by 0.01 with a coefficient of friction value of 0.17. The value
of the friction produced with variations in driving speed in testing on the KMHE 2019 prosoe
electric car proves that the greater the speed used in testing on the 2019 KMHE prosoe electric
car, the resulting smaller friction value (friction). The greatest friction occurred on the rear tire of
the KMHE 2019 prosoe electric car with a driving speed of 5 km / hour, 10 km / hour, and a wheel
mass of 110 kg, the value of the friction that occurred was 51.21 N and the most the smallest
occurred in the front tire with a driving speed of 30 km / hour, and the wheel mass of the wheel is
40 kg, the friction value that occurs is equal to 16.66 N.
