Abstract :
Diabetes mellitus can have an effect microvascular complications, diabetic peripheral neuropathy that damages the autonomic, sensory, and motor nerves if management is not considered. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of giving neurotropic supplements and diabetic foot exercises to the symptoms of peripheral neuropathy type 2 DM patients. The research design was quasi- experimental with one group pretest posttest design. The population of this research were 25 type 2 DM patients in the prolanis group of the Public Health Center of Garum. The sampling used in this research was to take all populations with a sample of 24 respondents. Data collection was carried out with an observation sheet on the level of diabetic peripheral neuropathy based on Michigan Neurophaty Skreening Instrument (MNSI). Data analysis was done by univariate and bivariate using Wilcoxon test. The results showed that there was an effect of giving neurotropic supplements and diabetic foot exercises to the symptoms of peripheral neuropathy of type 2 DM patients with a p-value of 0.008. The results of this research are expected to be applied to one of the management cases of diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
