Ikhsan Nugroho, 2018, NIT: 51145184.N, "Optimization Of Cargo Hold Preparation For The Loading Of Alumina In MV. PAN KRISTINE ", thesis Nautica Study Program, Diploma IV Program, Merchant Marine Polytechnic Of Semarang, Supervisor I: Vega Fonsula Andromeda, S.ST., S.Pd., M.Hum., Supervisor II: Irma Shinta Dewi, S.S., M.Pd. In the loading of bulk alumina in bulk vessels, optimal handling is required to prepare the cargo hold for the loading of alumina to proceed smoothly. Cargo hold optimization process even this happens a constraint that causes the loading process pending. These constraints include poorly optimized cargo hold preparations, unfavorable weather, deficiencies and damage to rust chipping equipment and lack of coordination of ship crews in the hatch preparation process. Writing this thesis using the method Fishbone and Fault Tree Analysis, as well as data collection using literature study method, observation, interview and supported by the documentation directly when the author performs marine practices in MV PAN KRISTINE. Based on the result of the research that in handling the less optimal of preparation of cargo hold for the loading of alumina, it is found that required the addition of spare parts and cargo hold chipping equipment by the company, the ship must conduct safety meeting before the cargo hold preparation process, good coordination between crew ship and crew department and always perform maintenance equipment used for the preparation of the cargo hold on a regular and regular basis. In the end results of research on optimization of cargo hold preparation for the loading of alumina in MV. PAN KRISTINE is very important to be carried out on board for the creation of the cargo hold preparation process without constraints and the loading of alumina can run on time.
