I Gede Manik Parasara, 2016, NIT: 49124386. N, “Analysis Causes Of Failure In Enforcement Of Rescue Boat Drill In Vessel MT. Elisabeth Schulteâ€, Nautical Thesis, Diploma IV Program, Merchant Marine Polythecnic Semarang. Material Adviser (I): Capt. H. Agus Subardi , SP1., M.Mar. Methodologi and Writing Adviser (II): Nur Rohmah, S.E., M.M. Rescue boat drill is a training program that must be held in the vessel according to the rules inside the Safety Of Life At Sea (SOLAS) book chapter III regulation 19, rescue boat which is not a lifeboat must be lowered once a month. Every crew in charge during rescue boat drill must be have ability, knowledge and proficiency for lowering rescue boat according to the Standard Of Training Certification And Watch keeping For Seafarer (STCW) table A-VI/2-2. But failed was observed during rescue boat drill in vessel MT. Elisabeth Schulte. For that reason, analysis was taken to find out causes that makes rescue boat drill failed in vessel MT. Elisabeth Schulte. The purpose of this research is to find out what is the first cause that makes rescue boat drill failed in vessel MT. Elisabeth Schulte, another purpose this research is to find out training system that must be applied to increasing knowledge and proficiency of crew for lowering rescue boat in vessel MT. Elisabeth Schulte. This is a descriptive qualitative research with describing detailed rescue boat drill in vessel MT. Elisabeth Schulte. Data was collected by interview, observation, looking at the rescue boat drill logbook and factual observation by taking pictures and videos during rescue boat drill in vessel MT. Elisabeth Schulte. The research result showed first causes that makes rescue boat drill failed in vessel MT. Elisabeth Schulte was from stopped engine, and wrong procedure to operating machine before lowering rescue boat. Low response, discipline and knowledge of crew in lowering rescue boat also first causes that makes rescue boat drill failed in vessel MT. Elisabeth Schulte.
