Abstract :
Fachry Antar Saif, 2018, NIT: 50134934.T, "Identifies the causes of temperature abnormalities in the parent freshwater engine cooling system in MV. Armada Papua "with Method (SWOT) Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats. Diploma IV, Teknika, Polytechnic of Semarang Shipping Sail, Supervisor I: Nasri, M T.M. The purpose of this study was to determine the cause of damage to the engine engine coolant system due to lack of care with the method (SWOT) Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats in KM. Armada Papua. The master machine is a plane that has a very important role on board to support the operation of the ship, so the ship can operate properly. In support of the performance of the parent machine, there are several systems in it and one of them is the freshwater cooling system. Using the Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, dan Threats method to find out what factors cause damage to the machine's main engine cooling system due to lack of maintenance and effort made to work on the master machine to be optimal. Based on the results of research conducted in MV. Armada papua using the methods of Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats produces factors of the amount of dirt on the components, increased pump pressure, cooling is not optimal. These factors are intermediate events that can be traced back to the cause. The result of the research on the damage to the components of the machine's air-conditioner system due to lack of treatment with the method, Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats, the compiler can summarize the factors The results obtained from this study indicate that the amount of dirt carried by sea water in Fresh Water Cooler , so the heat absorption becomes reduced, plus the reduced cooling water capacity, resulting in the absorption of heat is not maximal.
