Marina Star 3 under the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006”, essay of Nautical study program, Diploma IV, Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang, 1st supervisor: Capt. Agus Hadi Purwantomo, M. Mar. 2nd supervisor:Agus Hendro Waskito, M. M. Rest hour is the minimum number of hours of rest each seaman must have in performing on-board work activities within the timeframe specified in the rules. Problems encountered on board the MV. Marina Star 3 is an overtime that causes the quality of the hours of rest is reduced. This study aims to determine the effect of rest hour on crew performance and to know the application of MLC 2006 rules on board. In this case the author uses qualitative decriptive method to describe and describe the object under study. This method is done by collecting data that has been obtained and analyzed to be associated with the existing theories to be taken a logical conclusion. The problems that occur are described, described and identified the cause, then analyzed the problem solving. Based on the results of research and discussion of the problem, the effect of rest hour on crew performance is that crew performance will decrease, worker safety will be threatened, and crew health will decrease. While the application of MLC 2006 rules on rest hour on the ship is the implementation of the organization of working hours, supervision of the implementation of the work, the daily working journal of the crew, the making of daily work schedule, making daily work procedures, making work accident journal, making the list of overtime.
