International provisions governing the implementation of security on board
is International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) Code. Found many
deficiencies in the application of ISPS Code at MV. Pan Energen which are lack
of understanding and knowledge of the crew regarding the duties and
responsibilities on board. This research aims to determine the application of ISPS
Code at MV. Pan Energen and find out the obstacles that occur in the
implementation of the ISPS Code and then look for efforts to overcome these
obstacles.
This research uses a qualitative desciptive methode as a research procedure
that generates observative descriptive data in the form of the written word of
people and behavior that can be observed. And for analyzing data using
qualitative, fishbone and USG methode. The purpose of this study is to give an
overview in a systematic a real state of affairs in the implementation of the
application Internasional Ship and Port Facility Security Code in MV. Pan
Energen.
During the research, found some deficiencies which are lack of
understanding of the crew regarding the ISPS Code, the ISPS Code drill was
rarely carried out on schedule, ISPS Code supporting equipment was damaged
and some vessel?s berthing port was in dangerous area. And the results of the
research can be concluded that in the application of ISPS Code, the ISPS Code
planning must be made and training of ISPS Code must be carried out on
schedule.
