Abstract :
the purposes of the research are (1) to find out the students’ writing recount text before being taught by using brainwriting 6-3-5 technique, (2) to find out the students’ writing recount text after being taught by using brainwriting 6-3-5 technique, and (3) to find out the effectiveness of brainwriting 6-3-5 technique at tenth grade of SMAN 2 Nganjuk in the academic year of 2019/2020. The research methodology is experimental with one group pre-test and post-test. The research was done in SMAN 2 Nganjuk in the academic year of 2019/2020 by using population of the whole class X 356 students, while the sample used 10% from population is the class X-MIPA 2 consists of 36 students. The technique of sampling is using purposive sampling and the collecting data is using writing test. The class of X-MIPA 2 as the experimental class and the technique of data analysis used to analyze the data in this research is statistical analysis data t-test. Based on the results of the test, students show the pre-test average score 70,69 and post-test 81. The score category is fair from most of them. Based on the result of analysis level significance d.b 5% is 36 by value table is 1,690 and the value of t-test is 9,65. It can be concluded that ttest > ttable so,Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So that there is effectiveness of brainwriting 6-3-5 technique at the tenth grade of SMAN 2 Nganjuk in the academic year of 2019/2020.
