Abstract :
The purpose of the research is (1) to find out the students’ reading comprehention before taught by using know – learn – understanding (KLU), (2) to find out the students’ reading comprehention after taught by using know – learn – understanding (KLU), and (3) to find out the effectiveness of know – learn – understanding (KLU) at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 1 Rejoso in the academic year of 2019/2020. The methodology of the research is experimental with one group pre-test and post-test. The research was done in SMA Negeri 1 Rejoso in the academic year of 2019/2020 by using the population of the whole class X 252 students, while the sample used by the researcher is the class X-IPA 3 by number of class is 36 students. The technique of sampling is using purposive sampling. The collecting data used test and observation. The class of X-IPA 3 as the experimental class and the technique of data analysis used to analyze the data in this research is statistical analysis data t-test. Based on the results of the test, students show the pre-test average score 49,4 and post-test 63,2. The score category is good from most of them. Based on the result of analysis level significance d.b 5% is 36 by value table is 1,699 and the value of t-test is 24,4434. it can be concluded as follow: t test > t table so,Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So that there is significant difference between students’ reading comprehention before taught by using know - learn - understanding (KLU) and after taught by using know - learn - understanding (KLU) at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 1 Rejoso in the academic year of 2019/2020.
