Abstract :
The purposes of the research are (1) to find out the students reading comprehension before using authentic material, (2) to find out the students reading comprehension after using authentic material, and (3) to find out the effectiveness of authentic material in deal with the world of work. The research methodology is quasi-experimental with one group pre-test and post-test. The research was done in SMKN 1 Nganjuk in the academic year of 2019/2020 by using population of the whole class XI Multimedia 2 with 36 students. The technique of sampling is using purposive sampling and the collecting data is using test. The technique of data analysis used to analyze the data in this research is statistical analysis data t-test. Based on the results of the test, students show the pre-test average score 76,61 and post-test 81,5. The score category is fair from most of them. Based on the result of analysis level significance d.b 5% is 36 by value table is 2,724 and the value of t-test is 12,47. It can be concluded that t-test > t-table so,Ha is rejected and Ho is accepted. So that there is effectiveness of authentic material in students' reading comprehension at SMKN 1 Nganjuk in the academic year of 2019/2020.
