Abstract :
This researcher had found the issues in the field. Those are the problem of students writing skill indicators. Therefore, the research aims to reveal the student?s skills in writing procedural, to identify the response of the students related to the teaching and learning process in writing. This research used descriptive qualitative research. The techniques used to collect the data are written tests and interviews. The primary data source in this research was the interview of students. The subject of this research were the tenth graders of SMA N Tulakan.. The technique used to analyze the data are data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data in qualitative research using credibility and dependability. The research showed that the highest score was on the content value with An average score of 19.8. Students are able to develop ideas, and understand the steps in doing a job. The value of language use with an average score of 15.6, still had some agreement errors, problems in complex construction. The value of the organization with an average score of 13.6, still does not have ideas confused or disconnected, and lack logical sequencing and development. The vocabulary value with an average score of 12.8, student frequent error word form/idiom, choice, usage, confusing meaning. The mechanical value with an average score of 3.2, students are dominant by an error of spelling, punctuation, and capitalization. The suggestion of this research, Learning to write procedure text using a project basic learning model with animated video media students. In the video there is an animation that contained procedure or step to understand learning material that is easy and fun. In addition, other media that can be used are the use of learning media, especially picture series media to improve writing skills in text procedure.
