Abstract :
The research entitled Gongseng Surabaya Choreography tries to describe Farida Yuliani?s dance work. This research uses a qualitative approach, namely explaining the dance work with a description of the words. This study uses a qualitative method. This qualitative method is to describe the result of the analysis of the research data describe in the form of a description of the words. Qualitative method require data search by going directly to the field to conduct observations, interviews, and documentation. The data is explored or extracted is needed to describe everything as needed to answer the research question. The concept used is choreography according to Sumandiyo Hadi which includes choreography techniques and choreography principles. The explanation of the analysis resulted in the form of choreography, the principles of choreography targeting the movement and elements of the dance, as well the content of the dance which explained the emotional outburst (expression) based on the dance theme, namely the characteristics of the people of Surabaya.
