Abstract :
TRANSFORMATION AND EXISTENCE PASURUAN KONDHANG DANCE IN PASURUAN CITY Student Name : Putri Ayu Nur Rahmawati ID : 1891231010015 Department : Dance Institution : Wilwatikta College of Arts Surabaya The writing entitled "Transformation and Existence of the Pasuruan Kondhang dance in Pasuruan City" aims to describe and find out how the transformation of this Pasuruan Kondhang song into the Pasuruan Kondhang dance is to explore further to its existence in Pasuruan city. So that the people of Pasuruan, Pasuruan, don't just enjoy the beauty of the Pasuruan Kondhang Dance through its presentation but can also know that the Pasuruan Kondhang Dance is the result of the transformation of the Pasuruan Kondhang folk song. This study uses a qualitative method, the qualitative method in question is to describe the results of the analysis of the research data described in the form of a description of the words. Qualitative methods require tracing the data by going directly to the field to conduct observations, interviews, and documentation. The data that is traced or extracted is needed to describe everything as needed to answer the research question. The results of this study indicate that the Pasuruan Kondhang folk song which was created by Slamet Juhanto because of his appreciation for Pasuruan City then this song was transformed into the Pasuruan Kondhang dance because the messenger from the Pasuruan mayor who at that time asked for the Pasuruan Kondhang song to be choreographed into the Pasuruan Kondhang dance. Due to the will of the mayor who made the Pasuruan Kondhang Dance known and much appreciated by the people of Pasuruan City until its existence fluttered in the city of Pasuruan, from there later this dance became an icon of Pasuruan City with the intervention of the community itself and the Pasuruan City government.
