Abstract :
The Museum of the Asian-African Conference is a museum established to
commemorate the events of the Asian-African Conference which is a source of
inspiration and motivation for Asian African nations. The Museum is located in the
center of the city close to the city square of Bandung which becomes a tourist
attraction for the tourists and local community. The Museum of the Asian-African
Conference exhibits a collection of documentary Asia-African conference events.
The museum collections are interpreted as photo and three-dimensional, as well as
a few of the multimedia screen. Based on the current technological developments,
interpretation is not only limited to the forms mentioned above but can also use
augmented reality technology that makes more interactive activities. This research
was conducted in the Museum of the Asian-African Conference by selecting
augmented reality technology as a design of interpretation facilities using the
multimedia design stage. The stage of multimedia design consists of the
determination of the concept, design, collecting multimedia materials and
designing multimedia objects.
The method of research used is a descriptive method with a qualitative
approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through literature studies,
semi-structured interviews and observations. The required data include museum
interpretation techniques and museum collection types. The Data obtained through
the informant Museum of Asian-African Conference. The analytical techniques in
this study used Luther Sutopo's analytical techniques.
This research will produce recommendations in the form of development
direction of augmented reality applications and virtual map direction of museum
collections.
