Abstract :
Tourism in Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan is built on potential tourist attractions which are divided into two broad groups, natural charm and cultural charm involving multi-stakeholder involvement and sustainable development principles, by contributing to inclusive growth through the provision of jobs and economic development while promoting social integration. Samboja Lodge is a type of ecolodge in Kutai Kartanegara that suits the need to uncover the potential of the business type accommodation from an economic, social and environmental perspective. Therefore, this research is conducted to find out how the economic, social and environmental practices at Samboja Lodge in developing sustainable accommodation. This research is in line with the sustainability theory of Deutscher (1994), as cited in Jenkins & Schro?der, (2013) and indicators by dimensions from Harris and Goodwin, (2001) as cited in Khatri, (2010) and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council criteria for sustainable accommodation. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with the participation of six informants. The results of the study show that the practice of sustainability principles need to be improved with the six indicators that need to be reviewed further.
