Abstract :
This research is conducted to explain and reveal sociological issue especially in class profiles through the main characters in The Holy Woman novel by Qaisra Shahraz. In class profiles, there are classes which are the upper class, the middle class, the working class, and the lower class. In this research, the researcher uses sociological approach and class profiles theory by Thio (1986). This research uses qualitative research as the method. It is to explain the kind of class profiles within the characters. Furthermore, the researcher gains the data by collecting the data in The Holy Woman novel by Qaisra Shahraz and analyzing the data qualitatively by using Thio?s theory of class profiles which described on Siraj Din, Habib, Khawar, Srikander, Firdaus, Naimat Bibi, Fatima, and Neesa Characters. Based on the result of the data analysis, the researcher explains and reveals the kind of class profiles through the characters.The upper-upper class is described through the characters of Siraj Din, Habib, and Khawar. Meanwhile, Srikander is portrayed as the upper middle class and Firdaus is as the lower middle class. In addition, the working poor class is portrayed by Naimat Bibi, Fatima, and Neesa characters. However, not all classes are found in The Holy Woman novel.
