Abstract :
A social force from society influences western teenagers to commit sexual harassment, bullying, and suicide. This study aims to analyze cases of western teenage stereotypes such as sexual harassment, bullying, and suicide using a sociological approach because of the problems presented in the novel. The writer used the descriptive-qualitative method and library research in this study. The method assists the writer in finding western teenager stereotypes in California. Meanwhile, the data is taken from the novel Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asherin in the form of narration, statements, and sentences that portray western teenager stereotypes. Furthermore, the writer gathered information from the novel to answer the formulated research question. After all the data obtained and analyzed in the previous chapter, the writer draws the conclusion that the Thirteen Reasons Why novel by Jay Asher clearly portrays western teenager stereotypes through Ashers perspective of bullying as a writer, society's perspective of sexual harassment in California, and suicide among western teenagers
