Abstract :
This research investigates how English songs on the Spotify application help tenth grade students at SMA YP Unila Bandar Lampung in expanding their vocabulary. This study aims to test the significant influence of English songs played by students on Spotify on increasing their vocabulary mastery. It also seeks to provide practical recommendations for teachers, students, and future researchers. This study used a pre-experimental one group pre-test post-test design to measure pre-test and post-test scores. The results of data analysis using SPSS 29 showed a significant increase in vocabulary scores. The pre-test results showed scores ranging from 40 to 65, with an average of 51.50. Meanwhile, the post-test scores showed a significant increase, ranging from 70 to 90, with an average increase of 81.47. The findings show that when students use English songs through the Spotify application as a learning tool, their vocabulary increases. Research shows that English songs that can be accessed through the Spotify application can be an effective and creative tool for teaching vocabulary and creating a fun learning environment. This research contributes to existing knowledge and offers practical suggestions for incorporating technology in English education.
