Abstract :
This study investigated speaking fluency level of English students. The purpose of this study were to describe fluency level of students in their presentation and to understand types of disfluency which occur in the students presentation. This study was qualitative research but treat the data quantitatively to asses learners speaking fluency level by using theory from Stockdale (2009). This study was conducted in one of private university in Lampung province with 5 participants of English Literature major registered in 2014 who selected by using purposive sampling technique. The data were collected through speaking proficiency test which hold by the university. The writer found that the learners speaking fluency level were in the level 3 or good fluency level. in addition, the writer also found that there are two level of fluency which are advanced fluency level and good fluency level. Moreover, although the students speaking fluency level can be categorized as good level, the learners still need to be aware of speech disfluency problem occured in their speaking performance due to by using (Shriberg, 1994) modified by (Bailoor, 2015) the writer second finding showed that four types of speech disfluency were occur in the learners presentation which are unfilled pause, filled pause, repetition and revision
