Abstract :
Orientalism, as conceptualized by Edward Said, elaborates on the Western perspective and methodology used to comprehend, depict, and expert control over the East or Eastern world. Orientalism often views the East as exotic, mystical, inferior, and dependant on the West. The Western view of the East is not necessarily true and creates false assumptions about the East. Stereotypes refer to these incorrect assumptions. Scene and dialogues in the film The Covenant also exhibit orientalism.
