Abstract :
This researcheh is intended to know student’s ability in mastering english vocabulary at
the tenth grade of SMA Sullamul Mubtadi Anjani in Academic Year 2014/2015 by using
crossword.The method that researcher used in his research is quantitative method. On the
quantitative method, collecting data was conducted by giving a test English using
multiple choice and filling the crossword, which consisted 15 items. Finaly, The result
showed that the effect of using crossword was indicated by the mean score of the
students that was 89,2. It was provable that the t-table was lower than t-value that is the
t-table was 2.021 and t-test was 18. Therefore, the writer concluded that the alternative
hypothesis (Ha), The using of crossword were accepted positively effectively to improve
students’ ability in mastering English vocabulary for the tenth grade students of SMA
Sullamul Mubtadi Anjani in Academic Year 2014/2015†was accepted. And the null
hypothesis (Ho), the using of crossword were not positively effectively to improve
students’ ability in mastering English vocabulary for the tenth grade students of SMA
Sullamul Mubtadi Anjani in Academic Year 2014/2015†was rejected.
