Abstract :
Teenagers who are in the process of searching for identity will always look for one an example that they find interesting and has ideal values ??for them. For that adolescents must have a good and positive self-identity. This research intends to scientifically examine teenage self-identity in terms of behavior obsessive towards idol artists. The subject in this study was one of high schools dipekanbaru is a student / student using the Random Sampling technique. The instrument for retrieving data in this study is the scale of self-identity and obsessive behavior towards idol artists. Data analyzed using analysis Simple linear regression with the help of SPSS 24.00 for windows. Results analysis obtained obsessive behavior towards idol artists influences self-identity adolescents by 6.4% and 93.6% are influenced by other variables and p = 0,000 (p < 0.05 ) which means there is a significant negative influence between obsessive behavior of idol artists and high school teenage identity in Pekanbaru.
