Abstract :
Inundation and flooding is a serious problem both in terms of social, economic and cultural. The research looked at and measure the extent to which the results of the program Pekanbaru City Publik Works and Spatial Planning department to overcome inundation and flooding in the city of Pekanbaru. This research is a field of research with survey-type descriptive study using quantitative analysis. Population of this research is the department of Publik Works and Spatial Planning which consists of the head of department, head of palnning, monitoring, kasi kasi technical, planning and evaluation, monitoring, and reporting and the user community program Pekanbaru city department of Publik Works and Spatial Planning of 4 people and society as many as30 people. Sampling technique using cencus technique and accidental sampling technique. The collection of data from respondents was conducted through interviews and disseminate questionnaireand field observations in order to find out the results of the program Pekanbaru city Publik Works and Spatial Planning department in addressing inundation and flooding in the city of Pekanbar. In conducting this study, reseachers used four indicators to measurethe success of this program four indicators are : Program construction of drainage and culverts, rehabilitation or maintenance of the rivel cahnelnormalization, the implementation of the normalization of drainage channels, and the rehabilitation or maintenance of drainage cahnnels. Based on the implementation og the reseach conducted, the results of the program Pekanbaru City Publik Works and Spatial Planning department in addressing the inundation and flooding in the city of Pekanbaru fairly implemented, it is in accordance with the answers and statements given by the respondent.
