Abstract :
This study aims to determine the role of the Village Head in encouraging community participation related to village development in Semunai Village, Pinggir District, Bengkalis Regency in 2016. The research variable is the Role, namely the role of the Village Head in encouraging community participation related to village development. This type of research is qualitative and quantitative research with descriptive methods. The location of this research is Semunai Village, Pinggir District, Bengkalis Regency. The informants in this study were one Village Head and one representative from the Community Institution (LKD), while the research respondents were 43 people from Semunai Village. The data of this study were sourced from primary data obtained through interviews and questionnaires, where the results of this study were analyzed descriptively. Based on the research results, it is known that the role of the Village Head in encouraging community participation related to village development in Semunai Village, Pinggir Subdistrict, Bengkalis Regency in 2016 is quite a role. The form of the role of the Village Head is in the form of providing information to the community related to village development, there is guidance in the form of counseling so that the community is motivated to participate in village development, and there is an effort to instruct the ranks so that the community is directly involved in or participates in village development, whether in the form of money participation, property, energy or skills in village development.
