Abstract :
Based on data from Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) in 2019 Java Island is still the largest contributor to the national economy in the first quarter of 2019, reaching 59.03% with economic growth of 5.66%. In overcoming economic inequality, the government is doing more active economic development outside Java. Riau is one of the provinces with fairly rapid economic growth, one of which is in the tourism sector. In developing tourism, it needs the support of adequate facilities and infrastructures. One of them is infrastructure. In carrying out infrastructure work, it takes the role of humans to create existing plans. Occupational Safety and Health is now very important in the construction work. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in worker culture and the ranking of the use of self-immolation equipment in the construction of the Riau Provincial High Prosecutor's Office (KEJATI) and the Faculty of Medicine, University of Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka (UHAMKA). The method used is quantitative descriptive. Quantitative description is a description that produces assessment results in the form of numbers based on test results on questionnaire data. The aspects assessed are the selection of respondents on the variable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), the ranking of PPE usage, and the relationship between the use of PPE and the identity of the respondent. The results of a comparative study of worker culture against the use of PPE in the two construction projects is that there is no link between the use of PPE to the educational background and the length of time the respondent works. The KEJATI project has more PPE variables with higher Chi-Square values than the UHAMKA project. The first rank of PPE usage is the use of helmets with a value of 7.89 for the KEJATI project and 10.20 for the UHAMKA project. The last ranking for the use of PPE is the use of earmuffs with a value of 5.55 for the KEJATI project and 4.22 for the UHAMKA project.
