Abstract :
Traditional markets are one of the heart of the community's economy. Tebing Tinggi District has a traditional market located on the banks of the river in Selatpanjang City. Traditional markets scattered in Tebing Tinggi District currently have a variety of different characteristics. Traditional markets in Tebing Tinggi District, Meranti Islands Regency, still have a lack of facilities and infrastructure so that it affects the desire of consumers or the public to visit. This study aims to identify the suitability of traditional market facilities and infrastructure in Tebing Tinggi District, Meranti Islands Regency. This study uses primary data in the form of field observations, interviews and questionnaires as well as secondary data. This research method uses descriptive qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods which are analyzed using a Likert scale. The results of this study indicate that based on the characteristics of traditional markets in Tebing Tinggi District through descriptive qualitative analysis, field observations and according to the Department of Trade, Industry, Cooperatives, and SMEs of Meranti Islands Regency, 2019, there are three (3) traditional markets which are included in this type of market. traditional market and the results of research on the identification of the suitability of traditional market facilities and infrastructure in Tebing Tinggi District through a Likert scale analysis with the highest statement results found in the Imam Bonjol Traditional Market.
