Abstract :
In the early days of oil well production, the amount of oil production will be more than the production of water to the surface, especially in reservoirs with water drive mechanism. Reservoir with water drive mechanism has the ability to produce highwater. This causes unemic wells due to reduced oil production and increased water production. The researchers tried various ways to solve problems in water production, especially in reservoirs with bottom water drive mechanism. Downhole Water Sink (DWS) is one way to overcome problems in water production, DWS wells use dual completion system by placing production perforation in oil zone and water zone. But DWS well shortage requires surface water handling and high lifting costs. L. Jin and A.K. Wojtanowicz solve problems in DWS wells by not production of water on the aquifer to the surface, this well is called Downhole Water Loop (DWL). DWL wells use three perforations by placing one production perforation in the oil zone and two perforations in the water zone with the aim of draining the water on the aquifer and injecting it into a deeper aquifer. This research is field reserch using data on RJ#08 and RJ#22 wells in Raja field. Wells RJ#08 and RJ#22 have reservoirs with strong water drive mechanism, the application of DWL method on RJ#08 wells provides an increase in oil production from 73 bopd to 129,8396 bopd with a water flow rate of 500 bwpd. The RJ#22 well provides an increase in oil production from 37 bopd to 154,6872 bopd with a water flow rate of 500 bwpd.
