Abstract :
Gas absorption is a process between a mixture of gas and liquid which aims to remove one of the gas components by dissolving it using the appropriate liquid. In this study, using a numerical method that is applied to the simulator as a form of chemical absorption experiments to work H2S and CO2 natural gas that enters the absorber will rise upward and the mdea solution will occur downward opposite the contact and chemical reaction between mdea to CO2 and H2S. The other gas components will rise and will not come into contact with the mdea solution. Lean amine temperature is the only parameter that controls the temperature of the absorber. The circulation rate for each temperature tested is 50,000 kmol / H. Meanwhile, the temperature of natural gas when it enters the absorber is 400C. Because the mdea only reacts with acid gas, the acid gas which is undergoing an absorption process will flow down simultaneously with the mdea. Overall it can be seen that the greater the circulation rate, the smaller the ppm CO2 value in sweet gas, but there is a difference when the circulation rate of 40,000 kmol / hour is increased to a circulation rate of 50,000 kmol / hour where the ppm value of CO2 sweet gas with a circulation rate of 50.0000 kmol / h higher than ppm sweet gas a circulation rate of 40,000 kmol / hour although not significant.
