Abstract :
Concrete is a mixture of cement, coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, and water with or without additives to form a solid mass (SNI 03-2834-2000). Where cement is used as an adhesive for concrete. cement also has one of the elements of limestone which functions as an adhesive by 63%. Seashell waste has a calcium component of 66.7%. Therefore, this study aims to determine the compressive strength and split tensile strength in concrete and to determine the effectiveness of the use of blood clam shells waste (anadara granosa) as a substitute for the weight of cement. This study used a cylindrical sample. There are five variants of the waste shells used, namely 0%, 1%, 3%, 5%, and 7% by weight of cement. The method used for the calculation of concrete mix (mix desingn) is based on SNI 03-2834-2000. Concrete testing was carried out at the age of 28 days. Based on the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the compressive strength of concrete using cement substituted for blood clamshell waste (anadara granosa) resulted in an increase in the compressive strength of each increase in the percentage of normal concrete variants, namely 0%, 1%, 3%, 5%, and 7. % respectively, namely 28,309 MPa, 29,818MPa, 30,101 MPa, 30,290 MPa, and 32,366 MPa. Likewise, the strength of the concrete split dance variants of 0%, 1%, 3%, 5% of the weight of cement increased respectively, namely 2.595 MPa, 2.925 MPa, 3.067 MPa, 3.539 MPa, and decreased in the 7% variant of cement weight. namely 3,397 MPa. Blood clam shell waste (anadara granosa) is effectively used as a substitute for part of the weight of cement because it contains high lime so that it can increase the compressive strength and tensile strength of the concrete. The effectiveness of the utilization of shellfish waste on the highest cement weight in the 7% variant of the cement weight was 4.057% of normal concrete.
