Abstract :
THE SELF-CONCEPT AMONG ADOLESCENT FROM BROKEN HOME FAMILIES Nila Oktavirahmi NPM. 148110139 FACULTY OF PSYCHOLOGY RIAU ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY ABSTRACT Adolescent who living in a broken home environment have the potential to experience many problems in the development of their lives. Starting from social problems, academic problems, as well as personality development problems, for example being a moody child, withdrawing from relationships, low self-esteem, finding it difficult to adapt to friends, preferring to be alone and easily angry or sensitive. The purpose of this study was to describe the self-concept of adolescents from broken home families. The population of this study was the students of the Balai Rehabilitasi Sosial Anak Memerlukan Perlindungan Khusus (BRSAMPK) Rumbai Pekanbaru, totaling 70 students, all of them were used as samples with total sampling technique. Collecting data using a self-concept scale, then the data obtained were analyzed using descriptive percentage analysis. Based on the results of the analysis of this study, it can be concluded that most of the self-concept levels of adolescents from broken home families are moderate. Judging from the difference in self-concept, the self-concept of teenagers at the Balai Rehabilitasi Sosial Anak Memerlukan Perlindungan Khusus (BRSAMPK) leads to a positive self-concept. This is due to the social environment where the majority are teenagers who also experience the same social problems. This means that these teenagers no longer see themselves as different from other teenagers because their friends also experience almost the same problems.
