Abstract :
This study looks at the participation of women workers in the management of the Marsinah FM community radio. The involvement of women in the world of work shows an average progress of more than 50%, which means that women have jobs. The Indonesian women's Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) as of August 2021 also increased from 2019 from 51.81%. to 53.34%. However, on the other hand, women still experience discrimination in the workplace. Meanwhile, the issue of women workers does not always have a place in the media. On the one hand, there are several media that are present to provide space in fighting for the issue of women workers, namely community media that can restore the condition of women workers due to inequality in the workplace, such as Marsinah FM. Participating in Marsinah FM media activities is one of the efforts to raise women workers. To see the participation, this study uses the theory/concept of participation in the analysis. Data was collected by in-depth interview method which was described by coding. The coding results are then analyzed and participation is shown from four dimensions, namely influence, inclusiveness, communication, and capacity. The results of the study found that the management of Marsinah FM was egalitarian or jointly, the community was inclusive, i.e. diverse, the communication between women workers took place in two directions, and the self-capacity of women workers developed in managing Marsinah FM. Keywords: Participation, Community Radio, Women Worker.
