Keywords: Word Formation Process, Facebook, acronym, borrowing, clipping, compounding, blending derivation and inflection This thesis entitled An Analysis of Word Formation Process in Everyday communication on Facebook focused on the analysis of word formation used on Facebook. The purpose of this thesis was to classify and analyzed the types of word formation process, then find the most dominant word formation process used on Facebook. The researcher used a qualitative descriptive method andthis research was conducted at the fourth and sixth semester students facebook of English Education Study Program in Universitas Tridinanti Palembang. The researcher collected the data by capturing the photo and its captions which have been posted by them on facebook account.The researcheranalyzed a dominant finding using a formula. From this thesis analysis, the researcher found 8 processes of word formation used in facebook, namely acronym, borrowing, clipping, compounding, blending, derivation, inflection and back formation. The most dominant word formation process was inflection (27,59%) followed by acronym (20,69%),borrowing (10,34%),clipping (10,34%), compounding (24,14%) blending (3,45%), derivation (3,45%) and back formation (0%). The researcher found the most dominant use of inflection on Facebook.
