Abstract :
SUHADA. 2020. Factor Affecting Students? Language anxiety In Speaking Performance In the Classroom AT Mts State Model In Sorong. (Guided by Kriss Uluelang S.Pd., M.Pd and Yuliana A. S.Pd., M.Pd). The purpose of this study was to determine the main factors of the emergence of anxiety in grade VIII students at the Mts Negeri Sorong Model school. Specifically, this seeks to identify what factors can contribute to student anxiety in speaking English based on student perspectives. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a case study approach. six students who were participants in this study. Data is collected through structured classroom observations and interviews. The results showed in two factors, namely internal factors (Attitude, talking in front of the class, being laughed at by peers, students 'beliefs about speaking English, lack of preparation and always feeling unprepared) and external factors (teacher's personality) These findings indicate that teachers must be better at dealing with student anxiety in order to arouse students' motivation to speak and more motivate students not to worry when making mistakes in the process of learning to speak using English. riding with confidence and fluency in English class. Therefore, teachers are encouraged to be creative enough to design better techniques that can encourage students to talk more. Finally, the teacher must also provide material that contributes to students' vocabulary and confidence, so students have better performance in speaking English in the future
