Abstract :
Exclusive breastfeeding is very important for the survival of the baby. However, currently many mothers do not give exclusive breastfeeding to their babies, this is because it is influenced by several factors, namely education, knowledge, age and occupation of the mother. The aim of this research is to determine the factors associated with exclusive breastfeeding in infants 0-6 months. The study design was cross sectional with the chi square test. The total population was 206 mothers with a total sample of 72 mothers, the sampling technique was purposive sampling. The results of the study using chi square analysis showed that pValue=0.022<0.05 mother's age with exclusive breastfeeding, pValue=0.134> 0.05 mother's education, pValue=0.000<0.05 mother's knowledge and pValue=0.028<0.05 mother's knowledge with exclusive breastfeeding. So it can be concluded that there is a relationship between age, knowledge and mother's occupation with exclusive breastfeeding and there is no relationship between mother's education and exclusive breastfeeding for babies 0-6 months. It is recommended that mothers who have toddlers continue to provide exclusive breastfeeding for their children because of the importance of breastfeeding for for the growth and development of children, breast milk contains nutrients that are needed by children.
