Abstract :
The purpose of this research was to improve student learning outcomes in social studies lessons by using the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model in class IV SDN 4 Talaga, Gorontalo Regency. This type of research is a classroom action research conducted with 2 cycles. The design uses the Kemmis Mc. Taggrat with research subjects with research subjects grade 4 students, totaling 29 students consisting of 20 male students and 9 female students. The data collection technique used (1) test (2) observation and (3) documentation. Indicators of success that must be achieved with a classical completeness value of 85%. The results concluded that, in the initial observation there were 8 students or as many as 27.58% who did not understand the material so that learning outcomes were low. In the first cycle, the TGT learning model was applied, there were 18 students or 62.06%% and in the second cycle there were 27 students or 93.10% had increased learning outcomes of social studies subjects. So it can be concluded that improving student learning outcomes using the TGT learning model can be said to be successful.
