Abstract :
Work posture is the body attitude when working. Different working attitudes will produce different strengths. When working postures are designed to occur naturally thereby reducing musculoskeletal injuries. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between work posture and the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome in filigree craftsmen in Mongolato Village, the type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional approach, a population of 84 filigree craftsmen in Mongolato Village, a sample of 45 filigree craftsmen, determined using purposive sampling technique, The statistical test used is Chi-Square, the research instrument is a questionnaire. The results of the research show that the working posture of craftsmen can trigger the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome and the results of chi-square analysis obtained a p-value = 0.007>0.05. Based on the results of the analysis of 45 filigree craftsmen, it was found that 27 respondents had moderate risk category work postures, with 20 respondents experiencing moderate carpal tunnel syndrome and 7 respondents experiencing high carpal tunnel syndrome. For craftsmen who have high risk work postures, there were 18 respondents, namely 6 respondents with moderate carpal tunnel syndrome and 12 respondents with high carpal tunnel syndrome. The conclusion of this research is that there is a relationship between work posture and the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome in filigree craftsmen. Suggestions for craftsmen pay more attention to good working posture for work so they can avoid the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome.
