Abstract :
Gout arthritis is a disease caused by the accumulation of monosodium urate crystals in the body. This disease occurs due to triggers, such as food or other compounds that contain excessive purines. This study aims to determine the relationship between adherence to a low purine diet and the incidence of gout arthritis in the elderly in Tinelo Village. This research method is an observational analytic study with a cross sectional approach, using a questionnaire measuring instrument and using a purposive sampling technique with a total sample in this study of 42 respondents. The results of this study show that there is a significant relationship between adherence to a low purine diet and the incidence of gouty arthritis in the elderly in Tinelo Village, Telaga Biru Health Center Working Area with a value of ?=0.001 which is smaller than the value of ?=0.05. In conclusion, there is a significant relationship between adherence to a low purine diet and the incidence of gouty arthritis in the elderly in Tinelo Village, Telaga Biru Health Center Work Area.
