Abstract :
Melena anemia is a disease or condition where the body experiences a lack of blood due to continuous diarrhea or melena. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between age, level of knowledge and history of NSAID consumption with anemia melena at Toto Kabila Regional Hospital. This research method is quantitative research using a research design with a cross sectional approach. Data collection was carried out using questionnaire sheets distributed to a sample of 28 respondents. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique with chi square statistical test analysis with a significant level (p value ? = 0.05). The results obtained from this research are the p value of age (0.000), level of knowledge (0.000), and history of NSAID consumption (0.000) all values <0.05. The conclusion of the research is that there is a relationship between age, level of knowledge and history of consumption of NSAIDs with anemia melena at Toto Kabila Regional Hospital. Suggestions for patients are expected to increase knowledge about what causal factors are associated with anemia melena, especially age, level of knowledge and history of consumption of anti-inflammatory drugs. Non-steroids (NSAIDs) are also expected to reduce consumption of NSAIDs without a doctor's prescription.
