Abstract :
This research aimed to improve the ability to sum fractions through the conceptual understanding procedures (CUPs) learning model for fourth-grade students at SDN 2 Bulango Utara. The type of research used was classroom action research, with the research subjects being grade IV students totaling 32 students. This research was carried out in the form of cycles, and each cycle consisted of 4 stages, namely the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results showed that the ability to add fractions of students in mathematics subjects was still in the low category in the observation of 43.75%, in cycle I of 71.87% with a fairly good category. In contrast, the ability to sum fractions of students in cycle II increased by 96.50% with a very good category. Applying the conceptual understanding procedures (CUPs) learning model can improve students? ability to sum fractions in class IV SDN 2 Bulango Utara. The achievement of providing action from cycle I to cycle II researchers ended the meeting in cycle II second meeting.
