Abstract :
Caesarean section childbirth are increasing because they are the final action due to the difficulty of carrying out a normal childbirth, this comes from the characteristics of the mother and fetus. The aim of the research was to determine the characteristics of mothers giving birth by caesarean section at RSIA Sitti Khadijah, Gorontalo City. Descriptive quantitative research design, the population of women giving birth by caesarean section at RSIA Siti Khadijah, Gorontalo City was 45 people, the sample size was 40 people using accidental sampling technique. The research results showed that 32 respondents (80%) were not at risk and 8 respondents (20%) were at risk, 14 respondents were primiparous (35%) and 26 respondents were multipara (65%), 7 respondents (27.5%) were at risk. %) and not KPD as many as 33 respondents (82.5%), failed induction as many as 9 respondents (22.5%) and did not fail induction as many as 31 respondents (77.5%), had a history of disease as many as 3 respondents (7.5%) %) and had no history of disease as many as 37 respondents (92.5%), fetal distress as many as 4 respondents (10%) and no fetal distress as many as 36 respondents (90%), breech fetal position as many as 6 respondents (15%) and 34 respondents (85%) had normal fetal position, 1 respondent had a narrow pelvis (2.5%) and 39 respondents (97.5%) had a non-narrow pelvis, 2 respondents (5%) had a coiled umbilical cord and normal fetal position. as many as 38 respondents (95%). It was concluded, the characteristics of mothers giving birth by caesarean section at RSIA Siti Khadijah, Gorontalo City included age at risk, multipara, PROM, failed induction, history of disease, fetal distress, breech fetus position, narrow pelvis and entangled umbilical cord. So, it is hoped that policies can be adopted by providing information to birth mothers regarding the prevention of caesarean section in subsequent deliveries.
