Abstract :
his research aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem and the tendency forbullying behavior among students at SMA Negeri 1 Tolangohula. This research used acorrelational quantitative design with a population of 506 students, a sample size of 38students and used a purposive sampling technique. This research shows the level of selfesteemamongstudentswhotendtobehaveinabullyingmannerismostlyinthemediumcategorywithapercentageof60.5%andbullyingbehaviorisinthemoderatecategorywith30respondents with a percentage of 78.9%. based on the results of the spearmen rankcorrelation test with a value of r = -0.720 and a value of p = 0.000 (p<0.05). Thus it can beconcluded there is a negative relationship between self-esteem and the tendency for bullyingbehavior among students at SMA Negeri 1 Tolangohula.
