Abstract :
This research aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and nurse?s caring behavior for patients at Regional General Hospital Dr. M.M. Dunda Limboto. Quantitative research design with a population of 35 patients, a sample size of 35 patients and using a total sampling technique. This research shows the level of emotional intelligence of most patients is in the medium category were 25 with 71.4%. Meanwhile, the caring behavior of most nurses has a level in the good category of 20 with 57.1%. Based on the results of the spearmen rank correlation test with a correlation value (r) of 0.529, and a sig value (p) = 0.001 (p<0.05). Thus it can be concluded, there is a positive relationship between emotional intelligence and nurses' caring behavior in patients at the Dr. M.M. Dunda Limboto Hospital. This shows the higher emotional intelligence, the better caring behavior.
