Abstract :
Preparedness is a series of activities to anticipate disasters through organization and appropriate and effective steps. Anxiety is an emotional response to judgment that describes a state of worry, anxiety, and fear of being unsettled, accompanied by various physical complaints. This study aimed to determine the relationship between preparedness and anxiety levels in flood-prone areas in Daenaa village, Limboto Barat sub-district, Gorontalo district. This study uses quantitative research with a descriptive correlational method and data collection using a cross-sectional design and chi-square test. The population in this study was 92 respondents, using accidental sampling. The results of this study found that community preparedness with ready preparedness was 52 respondents (56.5%) and very ready, namely 40 respondents (43.5%). The anxiety level of respondents in this study was mild, namely 50 respondents (54.3%), and moderate anxiety, namely 19 respondents (20.7%). Statistical test results p value = 0.000 <0.05. So it can be concluded that there is a relationship between preparedness and the level of anxiety of people in flood-prone areas.
