Abstract :
This research aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and learning motivation of students at the Faculty of Psychology, Muhammadiyah University of Gorontalo. Quantitative research design with a sample size of 65 students and using random sampling techniques. This research shows the level of emotional intelligence of most students is in the high category, 34 with 52.3%. Meanwhile, the learning motivation of most students is in the medium category, 43 with 66.2%. Based on the results of the spearmen rank correlation test with a correlation value (r) of 0.737 and a sig value (p) = 0.000 (p<0.05). Thus it can be concluded there is a positive relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Learning Motivation of students at Faculty of Psychology, Muhammadiyah University, Gorontalo. This shows the higher emotional intelligence, the higher motivation to learn.
